European Earthenware Platter, With Asian Decoration

About the Item

European earthenware platter, with Asian decoration. In the center there is an elaborate landscape, with an arched bridge, where small figures can be seen walking. Next to it stands a pagoda, traditional Chinese architecture, accompanied by leafy trees and willows whose branches flutter in the wind. A boat sails on calm waters, and mountains emerge on the horizon, creating an exotic and idyllic scene. Two birds in flight stand out, representing lovers transformed into birds, a characteristic detail of this decoration. The edge of the platter displays an elaborate geometric and floral frame, forming a continuous frieze that reinforces the symmetry and elegance of the piece. The shades of blue vary in intensity, creating a dynamic and contrasting visual effect. This piece is a classic example of Chinese influence on Western earthenware and porcelain production, having been produced by several English manufacturers, such as Spode, Wedgwood and Minton, as well as factories in other European countries. The quality of the painting, the finely outlined details and the balanced composition give the tray significant artistic and historical value, and it is appreciated as a decorative object. Small flaws.
