Chinese export porcelain teapot with underglaze blue decoration; decorated for the London market in the James Giles workshop with the Stag Hunt pattern.
This pot takes us back to the start of the English porcelain trade, when the London decorators were buying up unfashionable Chinese pots and redecorating them for the local market.
