About the Item

A stunning antique Worcester porcelain Dr Wall period twin handled blue and white painted chestnut basket stand dating from around 1770. The shaped oval stand has a raised and molded patterned rim with small flowerheads set within arched window like outlines. Handles are applied to either end with molded flower head and leaf terminals and the center of the stand is hand painted with a floral and gourd arrangement with painted elements around the edge and to the handles. The stand has a blue painted crescent mark to the base. In good original condition with the usual potting defects to some of the floral applications.
