About the Item

English Pottery Pearlware Blue and White Oval Dish with Chinoiserie Decoration, Shell-edged Border Possibly Leeds, Circa 1790. The large oval 18th-century shell-edge pearlware blue and white dish is painted in the deep central well with a large Chinese figure pointing towards a pagoda in a Chinese garden with trees to each side. This is bordered with a diaper cross hatched band. The molded rim has a blue shell edge with in the four corners a molded double suspended drape design. Dimensions: 17 inches wide x 13 inches deep x 1 inch high (43.18 cm wide x 33.02cm deep) Condition: Good with no restoration and with several small frits to the rim. (Ref: NY10560-iuux)
