Covo Dish in Portuguese Aveiro Faience
About the Item
Covo dish, in Portuguese faience from Aveiro, produced at the São Roque Factory. The white background of the faience is decorated with a floral pattern made up of delicate pink flowers and green leaves, symmetrically distributed on the inner sides of the dish. In addition, a green frieze and a black frieze border the edge of the dish.
The São Roque Factory in Aveiro was an important faience producer in Portugal, known for its tradition in the manufacture of utilitarian and decorative crockery.
