3rd quarter 19th century set of 8 coin silver dinner forks by Gorham, American. An elegant set in the "Josephine" pattern, designed by John Gorham & made by Gorham for Bigelow Brothers & Kennard, Boston. In the Empire taste with double struck anthemion motifs, it is one of the most elegant of early American patterns. For the Marsh family (engraved obverse). Stamped: "Patent 1855" "COIN". Some light wear to tine tips, commensurate with age & use. 13.90 troy oz. 7.5" x 7/8" x 7/8".
