Antique Rococo Revival Continental Silver & Cut Glass Cruet Set

About the Item

A fine antique cruet set. In a thin-gauged 800 fine silver. With cut glass cruet bottles and stoppers. The stand consisting of 2 rocaille-decorated vasiform bowls or cups supported by leaf & twig feet and joined by an ornate interlocking handle. The bottles rest in the gold-washed cups and two attached rings accept the stoppers when the bottles are in use. Hallmarked with rubbed maker's marks to the base. Likely Austrian or German in origin. Simply a wonderful cruet stand! Date: 19th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There are dings and indentions to the bases of cups. There are some chips and losses to (the hidden parts) of the stoppers, some spots of fritting, and tool marks (principally to the rims) of the glass. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Marks: Hallmarked with rubbed maker's marks to the base.
