Elegant cutlery set made of solid silver for six people, consisting of 118 parts, in original wooden showcase. Date of manufactory: circa 1920 Material: Massive sterling silver '925' Form type: Model 'Acanthus', designed in 1917 by Johan Gudman Rohde (1856-1935), Danish painter, lithographer and designer, for the Danish silver company GEORG JENSEN. Two-part shaft flanked by elaborate ornaments, ending at the end of the cutlery handle in a stylized leaf and bud decoration. Original Wooden Showcase: This silver cutlery set is kept in an original, glazed wooden showcase. The surface is shellac hand-polished. At the top there is a viewing window, the six drawers, which are perfectly equipped inside, can be opened at the front with movable brass handles designed as wreaths. Two bars attached to the side with hinges serve as a shutter lock, with an original lock and key. His company Georg Jensen soon emerged from this studio and in 1924 he opened a branch on Fifth Avenue in New York City. Condition: excellent All silver parts cleaned and polished, cabinet shellac polished by hand, interior fittings have renewed.
