About the Item
We are thrilled to offer you this sterling silver epergne from 1894, manufactured by Elkington & Company of Birmingham, England. It is a regal and rich antique piece with all the trimmings. Notice the cutout work on each of the legs; you will find the same cutout design around the rim of each of the plates as well as the top of the vase. The center plate is the largest with the two sides plates being exactly the same size. Each of the side plates are removable as well as the center plate & vase from the base. In all, there are four pieces to this epergne: the base, center plate with vase and the two side plates. We had the entire epergne professionally polished and all dings removed so that it’s in pristine condition. Each piece is hallmarked and the base is not weighted.
