Tall Art Nouveau Silver Centerpiece With Glass Bowl, F. Schlesinger Vienna, 1900
About the Item
Elegant silver centerpiece on a tall, round, fluted, tiered base on four divided feet with floral decoration, with elongated radial and alternating small diamond-shaped perforations in the fluting, two relief wreaths in front and behind, four slender smooth columns arranged in a square on top, crowned by a cantilevered silver bowl with repeating perforated decoration and wreath motifs.
Glass insert with a cut-out lamellae pattern below the rim and a cut ground star.
Hallmarks:
Diana's head - Vennese official hallmark 1872-1922 for 800 Silver
Master's mark 'F.S' for FRANZ SCHLESINGER, Gold- and silversmith, Trade license 1889 (Schlesinger & Perlberg company)
