The anterior surface of each bowl is embellished with impressive enamel panels depicting a variety of floral sprays, including a rose, bluebell, poppy, geranium, and peony. The cylindrical stem of each spoon terminates with a carved colored bakelite coffee bean ornamentation. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Austrian sterling silver and enamel compact with mirror; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection. This exceptional antique Austrian sterling silver gilt and enamel compact mirror has a circular rounded form. The surface of the rounded body is embellished with vibrant turquoise blue guilloche enamel, which reflects undulating concentric ring designs emanating from the centre of the underside. The upper rim of the body is encompassed with an impressive silver gilt chased leaf decorated border. This exceptional Austrian box is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover, featuring further silver gilt ornamentation to the rim and incorporating a rounded thumbpiece to the anterior surface. The cover is ornamented with an exceptional and collectable enamel scene depicting the SS Orontes* at sea, with a dramatic sun set sky to the background; the lower portion of the scene bears the elucidating title: 'S.S. Orontes'. This impressive compact opens to reveal the original integrated mirror and gilded interior. The maiden voyage of the SS Orontes was a Mediterranean Cruise in June 1929, and the ship furthered its career as a passenger ship operating between England and Australia. During World War II the ship became a troopship, until the end of the war where it was utilised to return Prisoners of War from the Australian camps and back to Europe. The Orontes was refitted in the late 1940s to be used as a single class passenger ship once more, until an unfortunate collision with the SS Empire, where the ship was scrapped in 1962. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique French import sterling silver and enamel combination scent bottle and compact with mirror; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection This exceptional antique enamel and sterling silver gilt compact mirror and scent bottle has a circular rounded form. The anterior and posterior surfaces of the body are embellished with pale blue guilloche enamel, which reflects undulating concentric ring designs emanating from the centres. The circular guilloche panels are encompassed with a chamfered borders ornamented with fine black hot enamel and incorporating stylised gilt silver leaf motifs. This exceptional antique compact is fitted with a hinged cover, featuring a gold wreath design to the centre of the enamel panel and incorporating a rounded thumbpiece to the anterior surface. This impressive compact opens to reveal the original integrated mirror and powder pad, in addition to the original gilded interior. The upper portion of the body features a plain cylindrical neck, fitted with a screw fit cover, allowing access to the incorporates scent bottle. This exceptional example of antique silverware is struck with the maker's/importer's mark to the thumbpiece, the sterling standard mark to the interior of the compact, in addition to the French import mark (swan); the swan mark was used to identify items such as watch cases, boxes and jewellery as being a minimum 800 standard silver (800/1000). An exceptional, fine and impressive, pair of vintage English cast sterling silver and enamel salt and pepper set, in the form of a soft boiled egg in an egg holder - boxed; an addition to our silver cruets or condiments collection. These exceptional vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver condiment set consists of a salt Shaker, a pepper Shaker and two spoons. The pieces of this silver and enamel salt and pepper set have been realistically modelled in the form of soft boiled eggs in egg cups. Each condiment Shaker is ornamented with an enamel eggshell design with the top portion 'cracked' away to reveal the pierced salt and pepper holes; the upper portion of the pepper retains the original gilding. The enamel and silver egg covers detach from a bayonet style fitment to a brown enamel decorated egg cup; once the cover is removed it can be determined the pieces were commissioned to be used as functional egg cups. The spoons have circular rounded bowls to plain waisted stems and terminate with cast finials encircled with scalloped borders and circular motifs, accented with initial 'M' to one and 'N' to the other. These vintage silver and enamel salt and pepper set are fitted to the original hinged crimson leatherette presentation box, with a velvet and satin lined interior and secures with two hinged catches.
