1912 Continental Sterling Silver and Transfer Printed Box

A fine antique continental sterling silver and transfer printed box; part of our continental silverware collection This antique continental sterling silver and transfer printed box has a cylindrical form. The body is encircled with inlaid gold and silver trailing foliage designs. The box retains the original hallmarked push fit cover, embellished to the anterior domed surface with a transfer printed classical figure. The sides of the cover are ornamented with further bands of inlaid silver decoration below a braid style border. This fine antique silver box has a gilded interior. The hallmarks struck to this impressive box include: Importer's mark: C&C (Cohen & Charles) Import hallmark: London Silver quality/purity mark: .925 (925/1000) Date mark: r (1912) Condition This antique continental box is a very good gauge of silver, good quality and in excellent condition. The import hallmarks to the rim of the box and interior of the cover are all very clear.
