Wedgwood coffee cups and saucers with silver cup holders by Walker & Hall, 1919 A set of cups and saucers made by Wedgwood, England. The cups and saucers with gold paint and Greek pattern. This set is marked with the Wedgwood mark used from 1900 to 1940. The coffee cups have silver fittings made by Walker and Hall, Sheffield, England. Dated 1919. The set is packaged in an original leather box, black with gold line. The measurement of the box is 9 cm high, 38.5 cm wide and the depth is 26.5 cm. The cups are 6.2 cm high and 5 cm diagonal. The saucers are 12 cm diagonal. The total weight is approx. 2.5 kilos Walker & Hall was founded in Sheffield in 1845 by George Walker. The firm was joined by Henry Hall and became Walker & Hall in 1853. The factory was located in Howard Street, Sheffield and showrooms were opened at 45 Holborn Viaduct, London. Furthermore, branches were opened in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Cardiff, Belfast, Hull, Bristol, Melbourne and Adelaide (Australia), Cape Town (South Africa), Wellington (1911) and Auckland (1914). New Zealand. Walker & Hall became Walker & Hall Ltd in 1920 and in 1963 they merged with Mappin & Webb and Elkington & Co.
