Antique English Sheffield Silver Plate Hnd Chsd Louis XIV Tipping Kettle & Stand

About the Item

The FINEST Antique English Sheffield Silver Plate Louis Quatorze (XVI) Style Large Size Tipping Kettle on Stand. The Kettle retains its original pins and chains for allowing the Kettle to be stationary or one pin can be removed to tip the kettle for serving or both pins can be removed to allow the kettle to be removed from its stand. The hand chased motifs are without parallel. The winged eagle finial is superb. It is marked on the base for Martin, Hall & Co. (Silversmiths) of Sheffield, one of the most highly collected Royal Warranted silversmiths. Please note the exceptional "Gothic" influence to the original stand. (The burner fits but is a later replacement and is functional.) In age-appropriate pristine condition with no plate loss.
