About the Item
Rare George III Sterling Silver Tea-Coffeeset ivory Handles plus tray 1799-1800
Hallmarked in London in 1798-9 by Charles Asprey, this superb, George III, Antique Sterling Silver Tea Set, is oval in shape, and features bands of engraved decoration to each piece, and gilt interiors to the sugar and cream.
The handles of the coffee pot and teapot are original ivory. The teapot also has the lid knob in ivory
The oval tray is hallmarked with London marks in 1800 by John Hutton.
The tray with handles has been engraved with flower, fruit and leaf motifs. In the center, surrounded by scrolls and festoons, the initials L and O were engraved
