Frank Brangwyn Royal Doulton Art Deco Harvest Pattern Cup & Saucer
About the Item
A stylish and scarce Art Deco Royal Doulton cup and saucer decorated in a harvest pattern by renowned Welsh artist Sir Frank William Brangwyn (Belgian, 1867-1956) and dating from around 1930. The earthenware teacup and saucer are lightly potted the cup with a stepped wide rounded body and simple loop handle and the saucer of simple rounded shape with a central well and raised rim. Both are hand decorated with a wheat sheaf and various other harvest produce painted in colored enamels against a pale orange and blue mottled ground. Both have printed marks to the base and with facsimile printed signature marks for F Brangwyn RA.
In good original condition with some fine glaze age crazing.
