About the Item

A set made in Italy by the historic ceramic and porcelain company Richard Ginori, founded in Tuscany in Sesto Fiorentino in 1896, and currently owned by the luxury brand Gucci (Kering group) which acquired it in 2013. This tea set is made of white enamelled majolica decorated with hand-painted Tiffany green lines of different thicknesses. The design of this breakfast set, and obviously the logo imprinted on the cups, make it easily datable between the 30s and 40s; period in which both Gio Ponti and Giovanni Gariboldi worked side by side at Richard Ginori. The set consists of 4 tea cups with saucers, a teapot with built-in filter, and a sugar bowl. Although this set is more than 70 years old, it is in good vintage condition, intact, with minimal signs of wear and age naturally coeval with its age. The dimensions of the items are as follows: Tea cup: diameter 11cm, height 5.5cm Saucer: diameter 15.5 cm Teapot: diameter 25cm Height 12cm Sugar bowl: diameter 16.5, height 9cm

China Dinner Service for 6 by Richard Ginori Black Onice Rim, Gold Trim & Verge
By Richard Ginori
Located in Roma, IT
A Tableware set in very fine porcelain made in Italy between the 60s and 70s by the Doccia factory "Richard Ginori". Richard Ginori is an historic Italian ceramic's factory founded in Tuscany, in Sesto Fiorentino, near Florence, of which Gio Ponti was creative director for 10 years. This dinnerware is part of a Manufacture collection inspired by the elegant lines of the Empire style and which was out of stock for a long time. Now, the new ownership of the brand, recently purchased by the Gucci Group, has included the Contessa collection back in the range but without the subtle tone-on-tone trim that embellished the gold encrusted rim. We could say that this vintage dinner service...
