About the Item
Floor lamp model 531011 designed by Bertil Brisborg. Produced by Nordiska Kompaniet for the Triva series. Designed around 1948 and produced sometime between there and the 1950s. Made from grey lacquered cast iron, mahogany and brass. New lamp shade in grey linen fabric. Very good vintage condition with few signs of age related wear and patina.
Bertil Brisborg was the head of design at the much acclaimed lighting department at, at the time, one of Swedens biggest manufacturers of interior design, Nordiska Kompaniet or simply NK. Brisborg was hired as the head of lighting spanning over three decades and is an important figure in creating what was known as Swedish Modern. This particular floor lamp is from the TRIVA series. A line of furniture and lighting of very high quality that was targeted for quality minded customers from the mid 1940s and into the 1950s. Very sought after among both collectors and interior designers because of their high level of quality and elegant lines.
