Italian 19th Century Louis XVI Style Cast Iron Floor Lamp
About the Item
A beautiful large scale Italian 19th century Louis XVI st. cast iron floor lamp. The floor lamp is raised by a triangular base with convex sides and cut corners. The base displays a lovely mottled stepped design with finely chased palmettes, foliate and beaded movements. Leading up three elegantly scrolled elements, decorated with handsome lion heads, is the central support adorned with foliate designs. The charming and richly chased cherub is draped in a wonderfully executed flowing fabric and is holding up a striking scrolled and foliate element with a central seashell cabochon. All original rich patina throughout.
