About the Item

An exceptionnal rectangular mirror, extreamly rare early radical Minimal Modernist creation by Art-Deco master Edgar Brandt. A square massive wrought iron frame, with a hammered balls/spheres patterns creating an elegant rythmic/optical effect, around an original vintage silver mirror glass, signed on the side "EBRANDT", France 1925. This is a museum piece. This is an authentic modernist piece expressing all the powerful, minimal and architectural spirit of the early modern times. It is massive and heavy, even if quite reasonnable in size. This piece, in comparaison to most Edgar Brandt production, clearly appears as an early work of the artist, to be dated 1920-25, in the experimental and pure spirit of the 20s, before his later and richer neo-classical art-deco iron production. The silver mirror glass itself show beautiful cracks and patina, giving the piece a true and powerful input. CONDITION: In beautiful original condition. Wear, scratches, marks, chips, corrosion, to be refreshed.
