De Stijl Children's Wheelbarrow Designed by Gerrit Rietveld for Van De Groenekan

About the Item

Colorful and cheerful children's wheelbarrow in the primary colors that are so typical of Rietveld's work: red, yellow, blue, black and white. This piece is still in its original condition and has not been renovated. It was constructed solidly and this piece of 'toy' is still firm. It also ticks the boxes of the norm of good art according to the influential international group of artists De Stijl to which Rietveld belonged: 'Good art is square and angular.' The Rietveld wheelbarrow is also part of the permanent collection of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
