Manly P Hall, the Secret Teachings of All Ages, First Edition Book & 4 Prints
By TASCHEN
Located in Los Angeles, CA
The classic encyclopedia of the arcane in an expanded edition.
Renowned philosopher and lecturer Manly P. Hall’s masterful encyclopedia of ancient symbols, hidden rituals, and arcane practices has remained a classic since first published in 1928. Hall’s densely detailed writings explore topics ranging from Hermeticism to Tarot, Egyptian mythology to Pythagorean theory. Each chapter is accompanied by the vivid illustrations of artist J. Augustus Knapp, with additional images by Mihran Serailian found in the companion volume, each taking their own unique approach to nearly 60 artworks depicting occult subject matter.
The initial concept for what became known as Hall’s “Great Book”, first began in 1923 when the young Los Angeles-based orator began a months-long trip around the globe. Circumnavigating by ship, Hall visited Egypt, China and India, immersing himself in the philosophical and religious history of each country. Upon his return he spent the next five years penning his massive compendium of philosophy and myth.
Nearly a century after its release, this iconic masterwork has been reproduced for the first time from the rare and extravagant original edition. This meticulously-restored version of Hall’s “Great Book” is also accompanied by an expansive companion book, featuring condensed summaries of each chapter of The Secret Teachings, alongside newly-discovered artworks, rare photography...

Backgammon Roarshax Wood Case with Glass Chips and Dice
Located in Naucalpan, Edo de Mex
Backgammon is a very old strategic board game, from which its origin is still undefined. A true Classic game about tactics and luck played around the globe.
Taking this Classic as inspiration, Orfeo collaboration joined skills to create a board game with stimulating materials and astounding chips.
Shined a spotlight on to the raw materials used to create it. The exterior of the board is composed of two elements, a metalic box and a thinly sliced oyster cut veneer of parota wood. The oysters are sourced from reclaimed branches of these gigantic trees; a material that is commonly discarded as fire wood given the difficulties of processing it.
Underneath the wood they have used a single sheet of meticulously oxidized metal that is laser cut to size, then assembled into a box by one of their master craftsmen. Opening the chest you’ll find a treasure of glass checkers and dice handmade by Orfeo Quagliata’s artisans.
Orfeo takes his most interesting glass techniques to apply them to all the chips in the game. The checkers are manufactured in two different processes. The "Barcodes" technique is a fine linear design with schemes of different colors that contrast between one competitor and another.
Thin strips of different colored glass are placed next to each other and then fused into a single piece, from which circular pieces are drilled, ground and hand polished to form the chip.
The more sober and bitone "Roarshax" technique presents an electrifying texture on the top of a transparent body.
Meanwhile the dice are solid glass cubes...

Very Rare Charles X circa 1800 Marquetry Inlaid POOL Snooker Billiards Table
Located in West Sussex, Pulborough
Wimbledon-Furniture
Wimbledon-Furniture is delighted to offer for sale this stunning and exceptionally rare original circa 1800 Charles X Hardwood and Marquetry inlaid Billiard D'epoque billiards table with solid bronze fixtures and fittings and a suite of extras
Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only, for an accurate quote please send me your postcode
This is a very rare and highly collectable billiards table. Retailed in Bond street London however it was hand made in France. This table was produced by the same company that made one of Napoleon Bonaparte’s Billiards tables, the name plates which are in mother of peal and inlaid into the top of the table are heavily faded and difficult to read
The table really is a tour de force of marquetry work, it is some of the most ornate and exquisite work I have ever seen, there are Cherubs, Challises, all manner of floral detailing, this table is like an exquisite work of art from all sides. The metal work is all beautifully cast, its solid bronze on the lion hairy paw feet which are surmounted with crowns, the ladies masks on all corners and the middle along with the floral rosettes
In terms of the condition it is very good, the inlay is all present correct and secured in place, the baize cover was replaced a few years ago, there is one small perforation line, otherwise it’s in fine order. The cover can be fully and professionally replaced in any colour of the new owners choosing for the cost price. All the bronze has been removed, cleaned, polished and waxed, we have done it in such a way so as to keep the original patina, it has take 220 odd years for the bronze to age in this way, it would be a crime to polish it to a mirror finish
The table comes with an array of extras, you have a suite of original snooker balls in a lovely wood case, a suite of normal sized pool balls with their own triangle, a suite of larger pool balls again in their own wood case and another triangle, various cues and a mid-Victorian snooker score board...
