"In Through The Back Door" by William S. Phillips, WWII Themed Lithograph, 1981
Located in Colorado Springs, CO
Presented, is an exciting 1981 color lithograph by William “Billy” Phillips. Titled Through the Back Door, the lithograph depicts an American P-47 Thunderbolt pursuing a Luftwaffe bomber on the famous D-Day of WWII. Also referred to as a “Jug,” the P-47 was the largest and heaviest fighter aircraft powered by only one reciprocating engine. It was armed with four machine guns on each wing making it lethal for ground attacks. The busy scene focuses on the diving P-47 with “Miss Behave” painted on the side, but is full of action throughout the work. Providing a sense of movement, the background is blurred with multiple airplanes both in flight and on the ground. Fire and smoke billow from the field putting the viewer in the middle of the dramatic scene.
The artist, William “Billy” Phillips is a renowned aviation and landscape artist. He is well-recognized and has received many awards for his artwork. Early in his career, Phillips was commissioned by the Royal Jordinian Air Force as an artist and later served as the U.S. Combat Artist. The U.S. awarded Phillips the Navy’s Meritorious Public Service Award and the Air Force Sergeants Association’s Americanism Medal. The celebrated artist additionally won the Art History Award twice and is one of the few individuals to be exhibited in a solo show at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum. William Phillip...

President Abraham Lincoln Genuine Bedroom Wallpaper, 19th Century
Located in Jersey, GB
Seven fragments of wallpaper from Abraham Lincoln's bedroom in Springfield, Illinois
Before he left for Washington to become sworn-in as President in 1861, Lincoln and his family lived at 413 South Eighth Street in Springfield, the only home the President ever owned.
These unique fragments of wallpaper come from Abraham and Mary Lincoln's bedroom in their Springfield home.
The Springfield home in which the Lincolns lived was built by Rev. Charles Dresser who married Abraham and Mary in November 1842.
Rev. dresser sold the home to Lincoln in 1844 for $1500. In the mid-1850s, the home was raised to a full story residence with the Lincolns' bedroom located at the north of the second floor.

"George Washington at Dorchester Heights" after Gilbert Stuart, Oil on Canvas
Located in Colorado Springs, CO
Presented is a framed oil-on-canvas painting entitled George Washington at Dorchester Heights by an unnamed artist. The painting dates to the mid-to-late 19th century and was modeled after the original 1806 painting by Gilbert Stuart.
Gilbert Stuart (1755-1828) is best known for the hundreds of portraits he completed of American politicians and social figures during his lifetime. Stuart hoped to one day paint the first president of the United States, purportedly declaring to a friend: “I expect to make a fortune by Washington.” Stuart took on many government and private commissions during his life; his reputation and skill resulted in George Washington agreeing to sit for Stuart on three separate occasions. George Washington at Dorchester Heights was painted by Stuart in 1806. Washington stands beside his horse with a distant view of the city of Boston...

Chinese Black Silk Lotus Slippers with Plum Blossoms, c. 1850
Located in Chicago, IL
These pointed slippers, beautifully embroidered with light blue plum blossoms on black silk, were shaped to resemble a lotus bud and enhanced the diminutive shape of bound feet. A practice that began in the Tang dynasty and reached the height of its popularity during the Qing dynasty, foot binding was a painful process intended to make a woman's feet as small as possible by restricting bone growth from an early age. The smaller the feet the more attractive and erotic they were, giving elite women a mark of elegance and a distinctive - albeit tortured - gait of small, light steps. These beautifully preserved lotus slippers...

Omas 1997 18-Karat Gold Return to the Motherland Limited Edition Fountain Pen
Located in Weesp, NL
New Return to the Motherland 18-karat gold 1997 limited edition fountain pen. After 150 years of the British Union Jack waving over Hong Kong, this influential territory returns to its Motherland, China in July 1, 1997. From a Historic perspective, we cannot ignore the worldwide significance of this event. Authorized by the Association for Celebration of Reunification of Hong Kong with China, Omas creates a magnificent commemorative collection with a prestigious and emblematic design.
This distinguished writing instrument, New Old Stock never used, shows distinctive aspects of both Hong Kong and China in 18-karat gold. The cap displays treasured symbols of both Hong Kong and China, with the Bauhinia flower encircled by the words "Return to the Motherland" enameled in the original red color of the Association's official logo. The clip is embellished in the same hue by a thin linear element reminiscent of basic calligraphy. The band around the cap synthesizes the Great Wall of China, one of the most recognized monuments on this earth, the OMAS logo emerging from one of the Wall's majestic gates, and the 4 ideograms meaning "Return to the Motherland" in Chinese. Comes with the original Omas Return to the Motherland inkt.
The barrel of the pen follows this theme of combining Hong Kong and Chinese motifs. Sculpted in to the metal sheath of the barrel, two Chinese dragons, mother and child, allude to the relationship between Hong Kong and China and support the emblem of their unity, the pink Chinese dolphin.
The OMAS 1997 18 karat gold 063/200 Edition is comprised of 200 fountain pens and features an 18-karat gold calligraphic nib inlaid with a dragon head and engraved with the words "Hong Kong 1997...
