About the Item

Manual movement car of the "Irish mail" type. First half of the 20th century and later. Traction vehicle consisting of four wheels, one-person seat, a control at the front to activate the gear and two levers (one on each side, one acts as a brake and the other is related to the movement) and an acetylene headlight in front. The front axle is foot-operated for cornering. It is very similar to some vehicles known as "Irish Mail", which were derived from the dresins or skunks that were used on the tracks in the construction and maintenance of railways. According to another theory, these same drags, especially when they were not used on the tracks, were called the "Irish Mail" car. See, for example, children's examples from the AC McClurg and Co catalog; the 1938 Irish Mail Deluxe Racer from another company; or with the Ben Hur Racer Irish Mail hand-car from 1920." · Size: 150 x 63 x 73 cm. Weight is merely orientative. International Buyers – Please Note: for those articles that need Export Permits (those older than 100 years), the obtaining of the Permit will be processed without additional expenses, but the period for the obtention of it may vary from 10 to 35 days.
