About the Item

Engine order telegraph. Fenya, Fabricaciones Eléctricas, Navales y Artilleras, S.A., El Ferrol, Spain. Ca. Mid 20th century. Metal, glass, carved wooden base. Electric control bridge telegraph, of synchronous type, used, thanks to a replica in the engine room, to transmit the required speed commands. It was a very efficient and widely used mechanism while there was no internal communication by voice between different parts of the ship and it was necessary to drive the engines from the same engine room. Although they were often changed as new technical advances emerged, they are currently appreciated for their appearance and history. Measures: 42x42x130 cms. base 55x55 cms. Weight is orientative.
