Antique Sterling Silver Combination Chamberstick and Cigar Cutter

About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Victorian English sterling silver combination chamber candlestick and cigar cutter; an addition to our Victorian silver candlestick/candelabra collection This fine antique Victorian sterling silver chamberstick/candle holder has a trefoil, rounded form. The well is plain and unembellished, encompassed with a plain elevated border. The plain cylindrical column/capital retains the original detachable hallmarked sconce, accented with a plain applied elevated border. The impressive and rare example of Victorian silverware incorporates a cylindrical cigar cutter; this operates with a sprung, push fit catch to the upper portion. The chamberstick is supported by three plain bun style feet. This exceptional candle holder was crafted by John Thomas Heath & John Hartshorne Middleton of Hukin & Heath, subsequently Hukin & Heath Ltd. Condition This antique chamberstick/candle holder is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent condition. Full hallmarks struck to the underside, in addition to part hallmarks to the sleeve of the scone and screw fitments to the underside are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of Victorian silverware.
