18th Century Hand-Painted Venetian Style Gold-Leaf Moro Screen with butterflies
About the Item
From our Hand-Painted Furniture Collection, we are pleased to introduce you to our Moro Screen.
Did you know that a group of butterflies is called a "Kaleidoscope"?
The name comes from the beautiful array of colors and patterns created by many fluttering wings, that inspired this beautiful Moro Screen.
We intended to celebrate the play of light in a modern key, also with the choice of the gold leaf base, capable of reflecting natural light, creating an atmosphere of quiet elegance.
As usual in the 18th century Venetian decorative traditions, the entire creation is finished with aging techniques that give that timeless flavor to the work, almost as if it were a precious jewel of the ancient palaces.

Porte Italia Interiors
Porte Italia is very much a family-run company. One that has taken the innovative approach of enlisting an entire village to turn it into the unique and successful enterprise it is today. Today, the colors and rich decorative traditions of Venice still run in our veins. Using Venice-inspired colors, finishes and decorations, we are bringing old-world Italian handcrafted design and quality back to the new world order of modern interiors. You see, every region of Italy has its own traditional cottage industry. And for over 400 years, ours has been painting and decoration for the finest homes, villas and palaces in the world. All by hand. At Porte Italia, there is no factory. And no two pieces are exactly alike. Because every piece is still built, painted and gracefully aged to look as if it was born in 18th Century Venice.
Each Porte Italia creation is a bespoke masterpiece made to the exact custom specifications of designers from London, Paris, Milan, the US, the Middle East & India. And often in concert with other Venetian families whose companies have been in business since Marco Polo was a boy. We aim to re-discover the beauty of Venetian Craftsmanship and the flavour of long past traditions, making them available today for our daily use. Our missions is simply to make Art in the form of Furniture.
