About the Item

A fine pair of Antique 19th Century English William IV Brass and Rosewood Needlepoint Fire/Pole Screens, Circa 1830. The screens having brass stems with turned finials mounted with adjustable shield-shaped screens with the original needlepoint. The needlepoint is very finely and delicately rendered, once screen showing a peasant in a leafy setting, the other with a roundel of flowers & leaves. The quadruped bases are made of rosewood & have turned fluted columns, each screen stands on four raised and carved stylized bun feet. Both screens are in excellent condition. 64" tall X 16" wide X 16" deep 162.5 cm X 40.5 cm X 40.5 cm
