Arizona Woolen Carpet, by Nathalie Du Pasquier from Memphis Milano
Located in La Morra, Cuneo
The Arizona handwoven wool carpet, was originally designed in 1983 by Nathalie Du Pasquier for Memphis Milano.
Nathalie du Pasquier was born in Bordeaux, France, in 1957. She has lived and worked in Milano since 1979. Until 1986 she worked as a designer and was a founder member of Memphis for which she designed many textiles, carpets, furniture and objects. When the group broke up in 87, painting became her main activity.
Memphis is the great cultural phenomenon of the 1980s that revolutionized creative and commercial logics in design. Born from the idea of Ettore Sottsass and a group of young designers and architects, in Milan, coupled in the years by famous designers from the international scene, Memphis turned upside down all of the existing parameters on living. Ettore Sottsass as the backbone of the group, design gained a new concept and expression through new shapes, materials and patterns, expanding the creative limits of the industry. Memphis became a symbol of New Design. Its influence is still clear in various sectors of production and beyond.

Wool, Hand-knotted, Green and Pink Art Nouveau Persian Rug, 10' x 14'
Located in New York, NY
Orley Shabahang’s Wool "Framed Garden" Persian carpet from the Art Nouveau Collection measures 10’ x 14’ and was created in Iran circa 2004. Its hand-knotted pure wool pile in lush hues of forest green and blush pink evokes the sensation of walking through a golden rose garden in bloom. Gold, red and blue tones accent the design and echo the traditional Persian Garden rugs of decades past. The versatile, all-over design showcases blooming rose and paisley motifs, detailed by rich green stalks and soft golden flower bulbs. The exterior border features budding roses in similar shades, oriented to serve as a walkway surrounding the flower garden. This warm and inviting design, combined with the highest quality raw materials, conveys the essence of the Persian Garden carpet...

Antique Tabriz Persian Carpet by Haji Jalili. 16 ft x 25 ft 4 in
By Haji Khalili
Located in New York, NY
Finely woven antique oversized Tabriz Persian carpet by Haji Jalili, Country of Origin / Rug Type: Persian rugs, circa 1900. Size: 16 ft x 25 ft 4 in (4.88 m x 7.72 m)
It only takes one look at this beautiful Persian Tabriz rug to know that it is the work of a master weaver. This elegant and refined antique rug was produced during a time when Tabriz was undergoing a revival as the center of the Persian rug weaving craft. This rug is a masterwork of Haji Jalili, whose works are known for their high contrast colors and exquisite detail. This makes it not only an extraordinary piece in terms of its beauty, but also a highly collectible one.
The design is organized around a central medallion with radiating layers of contrasting colors moving out towards the borders. It has formal corners that use an ivory background and pick up the colors of the central medallion and one of the larger bands. This helps to unify the design from the center to the formal borders.
The antique oversized rug...

19th Century Serapi Rug
Located in New York, NY
An extraordinary, authentic late 19th century Persian Heriz Serapi rug.
Measures: 11'3'' x 15'
The Serapi rug can be traced back to the beginning of Persian handmade rug production in 5,500 B.C., but it was not until the mid-19th century that Persian rugs began to be exported around the world. Before these rugs became an export item, they were used only in the villages in which they were produced.
Mellow colors and more minimal pattern distinguish the Serapi from other members of the Heriz family. Original Serapi rugs were created in the villages of Serapi, Sarab, Ahar, Heriz and Gorevan.
