About the Item

One of the most distinctive groups of Caucasian rugs,Perpedil is named after a town in caucasus. This rug has a handsome appearance and particularly pleasing palette. As for most antique classic Perpedil the ground is surrounded by a Kufic border. The field composition of this Perpedil consists of series of ram's horn motifs in the center of the field and pointing inward from each of the long sides.between these principal motifs is a variety of geometric ornaments and highly stylised floral motifs.between each of the center ram's horns, there will be found a repeated series of geometric motifs with flanking birds. All dyes used to make this caucasian Perepedil rug are organic, there are extensive repiling of the rug and few restorations completed by master weavers, all sides and ends are original and overall condition of the rug is very good.
