Antique Caucasian Kazak, Circa 1910

About the Item

A very attractive piece with splendid color, this rug is attributed to Kazak ,perhaps woven by an individual artist weaver for personal use and not the market. It has a wool warp and weft with neutral brown tone undyed. A wide and well-drowned border of the so called Kufic design frames the rug nicely. The wool used to make this rug is high quality and the knots are rather coarse Dyes are all organic. There is no restoration in this rug and otherwise is in excellent condition.
