Vintage Mid-19th Century Handwoven Wool Khotan Rug

About the Item

This vintage Khotan carpet has a plum red field with a central column of three shaded buff roundels the lower and upper containing a large panel, the central roundel with linked flowerheads, each panel surrounded by angular flowerheads, floral sprays and flowering plants, the key-pattern spandrels in each corner, in a sandy-yellow linked lozenge border between a mole-grey outer wave motif and an inner mole-grey key-patten stripes.
