About the Item
Our sun-faded rugs are all one-of-a-kind, hand-knotted, 50-70 year-old vintage pieces. They each boast their own singular handmade aesthetic drawn from the centuries-old Turkish rug-weaving traditions. These rugs are made completely of sheep’s wool, hence they have a durable yet softer texture with a charming patina. We travel around Turkey to collect these unique rugs and bring them to our all-in-one rug workshop in Aksaray in Central Turkey where we clean and sun-fade them for months to give them a more antiquated, aged look. At the end of this long, meticulous process we obtain aesthetically pleasing, timeless, sophisticated and sturdy pieces of floor art.
