About the Item
Trained as a saddler and upholsterer, Erik Jørgensen established his workshop in 1954 which grew out to become an international furniture brand and a family firm. In the 1980s he teamed up with designer duo Johannes Foersom and Peter Hiort-Lorenzen — today two of Scandinavia’s most renowned and successful contemporary furniture designers.
First Launched in 1983, the EJ 900 Cobra chair is the counterpart of their iconic Pipeline sofa. The chair refers to early modernist forms of the Bauhaus period (Perriand), as well as mid-century Scandinavian designs (Nanna Ditzel), adding bold pop era or Memphis concepts and unexpected fabrics. Hello 1980s!
This set of Cobra Chairs is in a lovely condition, recently upholstered with a nice pink hopsack. A rarely seen set and a true icon of Post-Modern design.

Manufactured in 1991, the listed set is in a lovely pre-owned condition, retaining al its Castelli stamps and labels. The claret upholstery is spotless and fresh and wear is consistent with age and use. If you are looking for Castelli DSC-106’s — I’m your man.
