About the Item

Adrian Pearsall for Craft Associates, lounge chair with ottoman, model 1717-RC and 1841-O, fabric by Pierre Frey, walnut, brass, United States, 1960s The Havana set, designed by Adrian Pearsall, consists of a chair and matching ottoman, displaying a cohesive design characterized by rounded, organic forms. The chair features a barrel-shaped backrest that curves smoothly around the seat, creating a continuous, enveloping silhouette. Wooden accents at the ends of the backrest add a striking contrast, breaking the otherwise seamless appearance. The circular seat is generously cushioned for comfort and supported by four tapered walnut legs. These legs are finished with spherical brass casters, contributing a touch of luxury to the design. The ottoman, crescent-shaped to align perfectly with the chair’s round seat, shares the same height for a harmonious pairing. Both pieces are upholstered in an olive green fabric by Pierre Frey. Adrian Pearsall (1925-2011), trained as an architectural engineer, was a sailor and interior designer. In 1952, Pearsall opened his own furniture company 'Craft Associates’. Pearsall designed some of the most sensuous, gracious midcentury design pieces around, sharing many of the design aesthetics by Vladimir Kagan. His pieces are characterized by flamboyant curves, upswept shapes and stretched proportions.

Mid Century 366 Armchair in Green Velvet, by Jozef Chierowski, Europe, 1960s
By Jozef Chierowski
Located in 05-080 Hornowek, PL
The 366 armchair is an icon of the polish design of the PRL period. The famous armchair was designed in 1962 by the Polish interior designer and furniture designer Jozef Marian Chierowski. Produced in the Lower Silesian Furniture Factory in Swiebodzice. The chair has a simple, modernist form. It consists of an upholstered seat combined with a wooden backrest. The organic shape is typical of the 1960s style. The chair is very ergonomic and comfortable, as the furniture designs of that time were largely focused on the user. Due to its small size, the furniture fits perfectly into the interiors of contemporary apartments, perfectly meeting the needs of customers. The chair is in perfect condition after a professional renovation. We can prepare this set also in another wood and fabric color. About the fabric: This is special collection of velvet in a stunning color range of more than 100 different shades of both pure classic and non-obvious pastel broken colors. The colour palette has been created with extreme attention following the most recent trends. The unique feature of this fabric is its producing in nanotechnologies, so called WATER CLEAN, which gives it a high resistance to stains and facilitates the removal of stains from coffee, chocolate and even ink. This fabric is a perfect imitation of cotton velvet, gives the effect of softness and matte surface which works very well in heavy curtains...
