Oak bookcase by Alf Svensson, design 1960's

About the Item

Clean and at the same time authentic design of Scandinavian modernism. The finishes and grain of the wood give it an elegant aesthetic and easily harmonize with different types of decoration. In the 1950s, like many of his Swedish and Scandinavian contemporaries, Alf Svensson used traditional materials to create pieces designed in the purest Scandinavian modern style. He has created several iconic mid-century designs for a number of major Nordic brands, including Bjästa Möbelfabrik for this bookcase and also Fritz Hansen and DUX.
