Hampton and Sons had a few disasters throughout its history, it suffered a major fire in 1890 but they re-established and went to expand their business further. Antique Italian Neoclassical Painted Triple Armoire
Located in Dallas, TX
Antique Italian Neoclassical Painted Triple Armoire is a splendid expression of the classical style that dates back three thousand years! Even the French embraced the style during the reign of Louis XVI, but in reality it never really went out of fashion. This example, with rectilinear architecture features beautifully carved molded detail appearing in abundance spanning the crown and upper portion as well as the base. Motifs include spiral ribbon, egg and tongue & dart, with a particularly resplendent vine relief across the bonnet that is amazingly intricate, and accented with rosettes. On each side door in its own shield shaped framework appears an exquisite torchere set...

Exceptional Gaston Poisson & Robert Pansart Cabinet Lacquered Mahogany, Art Deco
By Gaston Poisson, Atelier Pansart
Located in Paris, France
This splendid and rare large furniture piece includes three doors with engraved signed keys from the artist Gaston Poisson, “GP”. This circa 1937 cabinet is made of green lacquered* mahogany and contains 12 interior shelves (three doors each with 4 shelves), each shelf featuring beautiful marquetry detail. The centerpiece of this beautiful cabinet is the large exterior mirror by Robert Pansart. This is made of "églomisé" glass with a polychrome geometric ribbon-like decor. Églomisé glass is a technique used often for mirrors that creates intricate decoration using golden leaves and silver.
*THE LACQUER IS NOT ORIGINAL, THE CABINET HAS BEEN REFINISHED LATE 20 CENTURY
Gaston Poisson, a cabinetmaker from Lille, France, is a renowned Renaissance designer best known for his modernist work. He has a unique taste for pure clean lines, mostly from the 1950s-1960s, which is exemplified in this particular piece.
The square and diagonal motifs visible on the facade of the cabinet as well as the ornate marquetry on the interior shelves show that this piece was highly specialized, a well thought out piece made with incredible care.
Robert Pansart is a French glassmaker and decorator who specialized in his unique technique of etching and oxidizing with “églomisé” glass. One of the most highly regarded glassmakers of his time, he mainly worked from post war years to the 1960s, and his work is reminiscent of a world based on fairy tales – evocative of the 1940s-1950s taste. His mirrors tend to appear in the antique art market and are valued as highly collectible pieces.
Pansart mirrors were auctioned at very high prices at auctions at Artcurial and other major auction houses (see the last picture)
Different works of the artist:
Berliz Cinema in Paris
Municipal Theater of Poitiers (see last picture)
Theater of the Paquebot France
