Rare Coffee Table by Roger Capron

About

This exquisite table attracts the eye as much for its Perriandesque form and construction as it does for the beautifully realized artwork which triumphantly decorates the top. This witty Bacchanalian scene, with enigmatically classical women (and a cat) configured in a sensuously swirling circle to echo the shape of the tabletop, is hand-painted in glaze on sixteen tiles. Signed "R. Capron." A rare piece from the great French ceramist.
