About the Item

This "Cats" table is unique and the only item known from Finland House New York . , made by Taito Oy in Helsinki . Paavo Tynell & Helena Tynell design 3 different small tables with animal motive , all unique . One table with Zebra motive is still at Vaakuna Hotel in Helsinki . Table is signed on the back: Cats Helena Tynell Finland House New York City 1949 The black and white photo of the table is from Paavo Tynell archive. Literature : "Chasing Light" Paavo Tynell page 98 Finland House The Finland House in New York was one of the most ambitious and successful projects of all time to showcase Finnish design on an international level. It was established on behalf of the Finnish American Trading Corporation in 1947 and is located in the heart of Manhattan. The Finland house is a gallery-showroom, restaurant and office complex.
