About the Item

Beautiful oil painting on panel depicting Christ, made with a chalky preparation which gives brightness and depth to the figure. The work can be attributed to a Venetian painter or one who moved to Veneto in the second half of the 17th century. Christ is portrayed in the "Pantocrator" type, with a beard and long hair that give solemnity to his figure. His gaze, directed downwards, conveys a sense of profound contemplation and suffering. The painting is in excellent condition, with brilliant colors and finely executed details. It is framed in a carved wooden frame gilded with pure gold leaf, which further enhances the work. A work of art of great value and charm, which brings with it the charm and spirituality typical of the sacred art of the period. Measurements: H x W overall 54 x 42cm; H x L work only 42 x 34cm
