A rare set of four large gouache paintings inspired by the views of the Bay of Naples and the ancient Greek temples at Paestum. Signed 'Romano'. Italy, circa 1850's. Why we like them Exquisitely hand-painted in mid-19th century, these pictures perfectly reflect the essence of the Grand Tour, the artist's appetite for discovery, for the unexplored, for the exotic.
