A beautiful antique painting with pink roses, by the Belgian female artist Marie Verhas.
The painting is dated 1891. Painted on a wooden panel, with a somewhat impressionistic touch. Beautiful color palette.
Marie Verhas (active at the end of the 19th century) mainly painted landscapes and coastal views. She worked in Brussels and participated in various exhibitions. Little else is known about her life and work.
The painting is framed in a beautiful antique frame, stucco on wood.
It seems that the painting was made to fit the frame, because at the bottom of the painting there is a small measuring strip.
The painting is in good condition, minor damage and small color restorations to the frame, see photos.
