Antique Unsigned Oil Portrait Painting on Wood Panel with Rustic Frame
About the Item
This antique and unsigned oil painting on a wood panel was acquired from an Ontario farmhouse with no provenance, but presumed to have been done in North America, possibly the United States in circa 1850 in the period Early Victorian style. This well executed portrait depicts and middle-aged male in period dress with a fashionable handlebar mustache. The panel is framed in a simple wooden frame that has had scraps of wooden molding attached to the back at some point to hold the painting.

- Condition:Repaired: The back of the frame has had scrap wooden molding pieces attached on either side for support as presented in the photos. Wear consistent with age and use.
