20th Century Antique French Original Oil Portrait of Gentleman Dated 1922

About the Item

A decorative, moody, quality portrait. Very sought-after. All the rage in interiors right now. This antique oil painting on stretched canvas has been sourced in France. It is signed by artist, A. Haspels, and dated 1922 in the lower right corner. It features an unknown, well-groomed gentleman in his best days. Good proportions and good rendering of light/contrast confirm the talent of the artist. He/she has really managed to capture the gentleman's piercing blue eyes and his impressive, grey moustache and beard. The painting is in good antique condition. It has not been cleaned, I leave that decision up to the new owner. The canvas has no holes or major scratches. No structural issues or instabilities. The painting shows minor signs of wear, especially around the edges, consistent with age (see photos). 102 years old but still looking good. Dimension: height 60.5 cm/ 23 1/2", width 50.5 cm/ 19 3/4", depth 2 cm/ 1/2". Weight: 817 g/ 1.8 lb
