Large 20th Century French Original Framed Impressionist Oil Painting
About the Item
A colorful and striking piece of original art dating from around the 1940/50s. This oil painting on stretched canvas has been sourced in France. Unfortunately, the artist, evidently very skilled, has not signed nor dated his/her piece. Clearly inspired by impressionism, the artist has created a enchanting and colorful forest scenery with light, balance and color harmony.
The painting has been framed in an impressive, custom, solid wood frame. The frame is 8 cm/ 3" wide and 7 cm/ 2 3/4" deep. The frame has a distressed, slightly shiny, white paint finish. It is most likely the original frame.
In good vintage condition. The painting itself has not been cleaned, I leave that decision up to the new owner. The stretched canvas is in good vintage condition: no holes, no major scratches. The frame shows minor signs of wear consistent with age (see photos). The frame has no structural issues.
