Anton Sipos Signed Original Mid-Century Modern Landscape with House Oil Painting
About the Item
A beautiful and quite engaging original oil painting by Bosnian/Yugoslavian/American (California) artist Anton (Antone) Sipos (1938) featuring a rural house landscape with a striking, slightly expressionist composition and bright, vivid colors (note the different colors and shades of the tree leaves).
The work is painted on thick paper and is signed by Sipos in the lower right.
Sipos was born in 1938 in Bosnia, the Central Mountain Region of Yugoslavia. In 1964 he left to France to study art at The École de Paris. In the 1970s, he immigrated to the United States (he worked with Norman Rockwell in New York for short while) eventually settling and working in Los Angeles, California spending his later days traveling and painting up and down the western sun filled coastline.
Would be a great addition to collectors of Sipos' work or California art or make for an eye catching stand alone accent artwork once framed.
