Mid 19th Century French Napoleon III Oil on Canvas Painting in Carved Gilt Frame

About the Item

Set in the original carved gilt wood frame and painted in France circa 1860, the antique canvas depicts a pastoral scene with soldiers on horse-drawn carriage stopping in front of a farmhouse. The soldiers are wearing Napoleon III uniforms, and the artwork is full of exquisite details throughout the painting, including peasants washing their clothes with a small dog looking on. The colorful painting is in excellent condition with wonderful and vibrant colors. Measures: 32"W x 26"H.
