A beautiful oil painting, lions in an African savannah landscape. Nice composition with a special atmosphere and beautiful use of colors. The painting is framed in a beautiful wooden gold-colored frame, with a red velvet passe partout.

About the artist, Paul Daxhelet:
Paul Daxhelet (1905-1993) is a Belgian painter, draftsman, watercolorist and graphic artist. Educated at the Art Academy of the city of Liège and at the Julian Académie in Paris (1926).
Initially started with an impressionistic style and often chose sports-related themes. After the First World War he worked in the south of France. In 1951 he traveled to the Belgian Congo (Africa) for the first time and became inspired. He then traveled extensively through Africa and found inspiration in the landscapes, people, flora and fauna. He later became a teacher at the Academy of Liège.

Paul Daxhelet
Paul Daxhelet was born in 1905 in Belgium. He initially studied in Liège, then later in Paris. Daxhelet uses waxy crayon or pastel to remarkable effect and surrounds his Pan with an aureole that adds to his otherworldly appearance. Daxhelet depicted many figures from the world of sports in his early years, and later depicted scenes from East Africa, where he visited with great interest.
