Contemporary Still Life with Alexander The Great Bust and Orange Apple iBook
By Andrew S. Conklin
Located in Chicago, IL
Still Life painting, with origins dating back to the 16th century, often depicts simple everyday objects. Conklin sets his composition with both antiquities and modern elements to bring the Still Life genre into the contemporary. Yet when a closer look is taken, his modern elements are already obsolete by today's standards. The ancient bust of Alexander is placed next to an iBook begging to ask the question - what will stand the test of time?? The piece is framed in a simple walnut frame measuring 26 x 26 inches. Andrew S. Conklin Square still life with Alexander Bust and ibook oil on linen Measures: 25 H x 25 W in 63.50 H x 63.50 W cm ACK038 Andrew S. Conklin Andrew S. Conklin is a figurative painter. Peter Buchman "Exit Strategy”, Voice-Over Paintings Series, 2025
By Peter Buchman
Located in New York, NY
Contemporary New York artist Peter Buchman's "Exit Strategy" is made of laser cut plexiglass, acrylic medium and enamel on wood. It's a part of his Voice-Over series, in which the artist culls linguistic phrases in a journey to immortalize how wonderfully other cultures have contributed to the American Diaspora. To explain that Buchman's word paintings are 'A Figure of Speech' is underestimating the level of soulfulness at which these works reside. They are markings directly from the artist’s hand yet are indications of many people before him. These are words from familiar phrases, music albums, his funny brand of irony and the human form itself. As far as "Exit Strategy" goes, Peter Buchman tends to dream a lot when he sleeps. When it's a really deep sleep, he is usually in an espionage kind of caper. Maybe James Bond meets film noir. He doesn't know why, but he's woken himself up running in place, sweating, and truly believing that he's killed someone. It is such a relief to sit up in bed and find that nothing's really happened, and all is well in his little corner of the world. With that said, there's a twisted, funny side to all of this, which leads him to something that everyone is familiar with: getting out of a sticky situation and how to address it. Facing it head-on and with a sense of humor is his default. Signed and dated en verso. This is a commissioned piece and will ship directly from the artist's studio. American artist Peter Buchman has BFA in Illustration from The Rhode Island School of Design and did a Sculpture Residency at The School of Visual Arts in New York. Peter's artwork has been exhibited throughout the US since 1981 including the Parrish Art Museum (Southampton, NY), Cooperstown Museum (NY), Delaware Museum of Art, Kidder Smith Gallery (MA) and Vered Gallery (East Hampton, NY). His work is included in the portfolios of collectors including Beth Rudin DeWoody, Nicole Miller, David Yurman and Howard Schultz...

19C Oil on Canvas Portrait of a 'Distinguished Gent' In the Style of J Eichholtz
By EICHHOLTZ
Located in Dallas, TX
PRESENTING a LOVELY Early 19C Oil on Canvas Portrait of a ‘Distinguished Gentleman’ In the Style of Jacob Eichholtz. Nice sized portrait of a Gentleman of high social status, from circa 1820. He has brown hair with a period collar and bowed white silk cravat and a black period tunic or coat. Oil on Canvas mounted on a wooden fame with nails and glue. Unsigned, but most definitely in the style and manner of Jacob Eichholtz who was a renowned Pennsylvanian artist known for his portraits of families of status and wealth in and around Pennsylvania in the early 19th Century.
