About the Item
Clearly showing the influence of French Cubism and Art Deco, this gorgeous, brilliantly-hued painting depicts a bottle of wine, a bowl of fruit, a wine bottle opener and wine glasses, all on a tilted table with fluted sides that is framed by billowing plumes of air -- all of which evidences the fractured surfaces and repeated patterns characteristic of Cubism and Modern painting in the 1920s and 30s. The painting is oil on canvas, and is stretched but not framed.
